For some reason days in JKT can seem SOOOOO long. Maybe its because everyday is the same with no altering seasons. It is Hot and Humid everyday with no visual aids to remind us of Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. There are no stores with Witches and Bats
ok so they have witches and bats but not the kind you're used to
.......for Halloween or Candy galore. There are no varying Olfactory receptors to remind us of Turkey Day, or Pine to remind us of Christmas. The excitement of these normal events have somewhat dwindled.
I have been trying to get over the "differences" of living abroad. I am AWARE I am not in the US. However it is difficult to adhere to these events when everything you have known for the last 29 years is so different....
ANYWAY, aside from being sad that I am not prepping for Fall, some ladies from Church (The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints) got together with the kiddos to go to the local Zoo. Ragunan Zoo in South Jakarta. Priced at 35 cents. One last outing before school started.

What do you do when your child is overheated? You give them a couple ICE COLD Pocari Sweats of course.
